Dates for the Week Intensives are:

Cost: $75.00 per Child per week ($20 non refundable deposit upon booking.)

Upcoming Events

In February this year we will be having "GRANDPARENTS WEEK" between Monday the 6th February and Saturday 11th of February. All grandparents are invited to come along & see what great little swimmers they have in their grandchildren.
The children love to have their grandparents watching them in their classes.
All grandparents will receive a little something for coming to show their support.

Clothes Week is also on the calendar for February. The second two weeks of February will be "CLOTHES WEEK". From Monday the 13th of February through to Saturday the 25th of February, all children are to wear clothes over their togs for their lessons. This helps to show them what it would be like

Lost Property

Throughout the year we seem we seem to accumulate a lot of lost property. Each year at christmas time we clean up and donate anything worth while to Hospice.

So if you think you may have lost/left something here, please have a look in the lost property before we close on the 17th as it won’t be there in the New Year.

AUSSIE DROWNINGS: 2011 OVERVIEW

The recently released Royal Life Saving (RLS) National Drowning Report 2011 showed 315 people drowned in Australia in the year up to 30th June 2011 – the highest number since 2003.

RLS’s CEO Rob Bradley says "the Report is a sobering reminder to all Australians that drowning continues to be a significant problem. Fortunately, the number of child drowning prevention efforts must be maintained". Bradley goes on to say "Drowning deaths of children under 5 are reducing, which is extremely pleasing. There has been a 15% reduction in drowning in children aged under 5, compared to the 5 year average, with 5 fewer deaths than in the previous year. RLS cautions that child drowning remains at unacceptable high levels".

Swim Australia CEO, Ross Gage notes that for every Drowning there are many more near drowning incidents that result in some form of permanent brain damage. Gage went on to say that as a child ages, they will be subjected to differing potential drowning situations. The swimming and water safety skills and knowledge developed around a baby and toddler need to be enhanced and added to during their preschool years. Likewise, once school aged, they need to become stronger swimmers and develop new water safety skills and knowledge. Parents need to go the distance with their child’s aquatic education… whilst maintaining proper supervision. Barriers and having an emergency action plan in place.

Children under 5: 28 drowned, 22 male, 12 drown in pool, 16 fell or wondered into water.
Children 5-14: 14 drowned, 8 male, 8 at river location, 4 drowned in pool, 4 fell or wondered into water, 4 swept away in flood water.
