Why is winter the best time for swimming lessons
Swimming lessons have traditionally been a summer activity that is repeated each year during certain months. Fortunately, this tradition is changing as parents realise the dangers around water do not drop when the temperature does. In fact, we at the Swim Factory have noticed that for many children, lessons in winter are more beneficial than in the hotter months.
Consistency is the key for confidence
When a young child who has learnt to enjoy water has extended periods away from the pool, their reaction to starting swimming again is unpredictable.
The return can often be met with fear and hesitation due to the rapid development and behavioural changes the child has gone through since their last swim. Children who swim each week consistently during these early years rarely react to swimming negatively and see lessons as a natural part of their routine. It is proven that swimming all year round ensures quicker progression and results.
Got a Question? Ask the Deck Supervisor
If you have a question relating to your child’s swimming lessons there is always someone on hand who can help.
We know it’s difficult to speak to an instructor during or in between lessons. There never seems to be enough time. Due to this there is always a Deck Supervisor on hand to answer any questions relating to your child and their swimming lessons.
